Ghost Ships –Dark Ride and Headless dude (Movie quips and comments)

Ghost Voyage 2008 5 out of 10

An Interesting concept that was poorly executed with bad acting and cheesy effects….If done right this could have been an
Five Characters in Search of an Exit----now that was some good stuff there. "Clown. Hobo. Ballet Dancer. Bagpiper. And an Army Major."   A collection of question marks?   Five improbable entities stuck together into a pit of darkness. No logic, no reason, no explanation. Just a prolonged nightmare in which fear, loneliness, and the unexplainable walk hand in hand through the shadows. In a moment, we'll start collecting clues as to the whys, the whats, and the wheres. We will not end the nightmare, we'll only explain it, because this is the Twilight Zone." –Rod Sterling

Sorry I got sidetracked….Anyway watch the Cube and skip Ghost Voyage…

Here is the trailer for this flick

Dark Ride 2006 6 out of 10

Cool Setting…..Murder on a dark ride…..Of course some kids in a van and we aren’t talking the Scooby gang…decide to spend the night in a closed Seashore dark ride with a murderous history….It alludes to Funhouse in some dialogue and obvious inspiration….I’ve seen so many horror movies like this….I give it a 6 out of 10 because of some of the cool shots inside the Dark Ride. Figured out the twist fairly early….

Clive Barker’s Book of Blood 2008 7+ out of 10

I actually really liked this Clive Barker film..An interesting Paranormal flick …That can be summed up with this quote from the flick that is displayed in an interesting way
"The dead have highways, running through the wasteland behind our lives, bearing an endless traffic of departed souls. They can be heard in the broken places of our world, through cracks made out of cruelty, violence, and depravity. They have sign posts, these highways, and crossroads and intersections. And it is at these intersections where the dead mingle, and sometimes spill over into our world."

Headless Horseman 2007 5 out of 10

This is not the classic Washington Irving tale (which I’ve read 4 times)…..This is not the amazing Disney short that I watched every year…This is not the fun but off kilter Burton version…..
No this is your typical teens take a detour…..Didn’t I watch one of those the other day of yeah Dark Ride…..and didn’t I see this movie already (yeah Ogre 2008 5 out of 10)
Both flicks have teens stranded in a strange town that is cursed that are being sacrificed to the Ogre/ Headless Horsemen….They must escape after most of them are killed of course…..mystical powers, curses –weird towns…..It is practically the same movie

and Ogre for comparison…

Surrogates 2009 8 out of 10
Photobucket
Right up my alley…Interesting …..Mystery ….Sci-Fi…..I love flicks like this ---from Bladerunner to Total Recall--- a movie that entertains and makes you think about things ----my kind of film……It takes Virtual reality….The Internet Real life Simms…..Like the kind of books that I read……Bruce Willis was great and the plot twists although not surprising were good….Really liked the ending..

Watchman 2009 5 out of 10
Photobucket
END and I watched this together……The trailer looked great…It is one of the most acclaimed Graphic Comics ever……Tranlated into film a little dull and boring….Some great visuals but just to boring….And the costumes looked like they were stolen from the set of the Tick (with Patrick Warburton)…. And do all Superheroes have to talk like angry Batman now…..?
