The original movie was a fun take on the War of Roses type movie. A couple battles a frat in a crazy battle of neighbors.

The movie did well at the box office office so a sequel was inevitable.  When the trailer came out it actually looked like it may be worth watching ---especially if you liked the original.   The concept for the sequel was an easy one.  This time around ...right as the couple was trying to sell their house a sorority moves in and chaos ensues again,

Unfortunately--all of the best scenes for this sequel are in the trailer. It should have been more over the top and crazier than the first one,  but instead it was just a not so creative rehashing of the original.  It wasn't as funny,   it wasn't as extreme in the battles.   Despite one good scene with a chase at the Tailgate party --- the film was pretty tame and almost dull.  The writing for this sequel was just lazy and instead of being wild and crazy it was fairly dull and mundane.  It was an unnecessary cash grab sequel with little entertainment value.

The story is about a crew of a spaceship that is sent on a mission to basically reignite the dying sun by dropping a bomb in it.  The first crew that was sent out to do this  job 7 years earlier and lost contact with earth and never completed the mission.  

I was interested in seeing this after it was referenced several times after seeing the cool sci-fi movie Infini (which I loved).  This movie had a cool cast that includes Chris Evans, Rose Byrne, and Cillian Murphy.   Unfortunately the cast wasn't enough to make the film interesting.  I was really underwhelmed by the movie.  The story got dragged down by the typical - "Someone needs to go outside the ship to fix it scenes".   The crew argues about the mission.  They get the typical distress call from the original spacecraft and argue some more.  They decide to go to the other ship --now the film may might start to get interesting right?  Instead  just as they are exploring the ship there is an accident and we get another spacewalk to get back to the other ship after something goes wrong losing more crew members.  Then the movie just gets weird...  Their is someone else on their ship???  And it turns briefly into a slasher flick before another boring "We need to finish the mission" ending.

Skip this one and watch Pandorum or Infini instead.  Or watch the TV Show The Expanse which does the same scenes in a much better and more exciting way.

If you are a Seth Rogen fan than you are probably going to like this movie.  He basically plays the exact same character that he plays in all his other films.   His characters have the range of a toaster with one setting.  Maybe all his movies take place in a shared universe where he was cloned.  He is the stoner that now has a kid and his party days are in his past and yet he still wishes he was cool.  Instead the necessities of life are slowly turning him into the old guy that wants to yell at the kids to get off his lawn.   The silly plot of the movie is that the house next door to Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne has been sold and a wild party crazy frat has moved in.   They try to make piece with the frat when they move in but end up having to call the cops on them after a party keeps them and their baby up all night.   This doesn't go over well and it turns into a War or Roses situation with their new crazy neighbors.  The vengeful between the frat and the couple are the entire plot of the movie.   If you have seen the trailer (see below) that is exactly what you get in the movie.   The couple and the frat play pranks on each other that slowly escalate into all out war.  One of the best examples is when the frat puts air bags in his chairs at home and work. 

I found this debauchery entertaining as Seth Rogen and his wife struggle to the battle Zac Efron frat boys.   The humor is raunchy and immature, but again it is a Seth Rogen movie.   For fans of this film it will be getting a sequel--that will probably be more of the same expect in the next one they join with Zac Efron to battle a Sorority.

If you have not been a fan of Seth Rogen's films than I would say avoid it.
