Zombie Shark 2015  3 out of 10

Zombie Shark was a boring bad shark movie.  It had some decent camera shots here and there--but was just dull as a whole.  Some friends decide to go to an vacation island for the weekend and end up getting attacked by sharks that are basically zombies.  Other than the catchy name of Zombie Shark --they really don't act or behave any different than regular sharks,  unless you count the fact that when they appear to be dead on the beach --they are actually just resting.  This movie tries to have serious dialogue scenes featuring the characters in the film that occasionally bring the movie to a grinding halt.  If you are making a movie called Zombie Shark --long character development scenes with characters talking about why their mom likes the younger sister better are just boring time wasting scenes that the audience could care less about. 

   The worst part of the movie is Jason London's "I don't really seem to care I'm in a movie acting."   He looked like a boring office worker --just showing up on Monday morning that hasn't had his coffee yet.  He brought this lackluster effort into every dull scene that he was in.  There are no laughs in Zombie Shark and even when the sharks start biting people and turning them into zombies there is really never any true tension in the film.     My opinion is to skip Zombie Shark and not be fooled by it's catchy title.   There are so many better bad shark movies to enjoy.

What a great title for a cheesy Syfy channel movie.   Add in the fact that the description for the movie is   Toxic Moonshine turns a bunch of gators into killing machines.....Need I say more?   It had all the ingredients to be a great bad movie.  The bad shine even turns the people into gators about halfway through the movie which lends itself to what should have been a ton of chessy fun. 

 

 

Somehow it just wasn't as fun as it could have been.  I mean the toxic moonshine mutated gators were actually not that large or scary---so it mostly played about like a normal killer gator movie.   Then the movie had so much potential when somehow the people that were either bite by a gator or ate the toxic moonshine gator meet started turning into gators.  The transformation from people to gators was too quick and I think they wasted the potential for a hilarious spin, which would have been a bunch of toxic mutated gator people running around like infected zombies trying to bite people with their gator teeth.   That would have been much more fun to see.   Anyway it was decent for a killer gator movie...but it could have been so much more if they had just fully embraced the cheesy storyline and taken it in a different direction.  There are still things to like about the movie like the silly Romeo and Juliet sub plot between a boy and girl from two warring hillbilly clans.  The duel between the 2 heads of the clans at the end that is like a gun battle wild west style in the middle of the street (that features a guy with a gun vs a guy turned gators shooting spines out of his back).  The movie counts on the love of Duck Dynasty type folks that are really big on TV right now.  I once saw a Scooby Doo episode that did this story much better.    Anyway if you like killer gator movies enjoy.

Starring Alessandra Torresani  (Zoe from Caprica)  I knew I recognized her from something .... and Morgan Fairchild

(still looking good). 

The movies title is a cheap attempt at tricking someone into thinking it has something to do with the tv show American Horror Story......It should be called  Just Another Sorority House of Death.

The movie was a typical sorority house with a dark secret.   I could  have sworn that this is a remake of another haunted sorority movie that I saw a couple of years ago.   It had some slight differences , but was mainly the same film.  The sorority girls are pledging of course---a halloween party happens and a bunch of people die.  Some cheesy effects including ghost lighting and a mystical border that surrounds the house and a bunch of bad death scenes are the norm in this so so horror flick.
