William Powell stars as a man dealing with turning 50 years old on an extended vacation with his wife that catches a Mermaid (Ann Blyth) while fishing....An obvious inspiration for Splash.... She doesn't speak but she sings oh so sweet . He hides her in the bathtub then in the resorts expensive fish tank where she eats all the 1,000 dollar fish... He falls in love with her of course -but eventually has to let her go so she won't end up shipped off to some London zoo... A decent flick.
