Brad's Top 7 movies for 2006

Coming in at number 7

Bambi 2 9 out of 10
A beautiful direct to DVD movie that captures the charm of the original Bambi which is one of the first movies I ever saw.

Coming in at number 6
Eight Below 9 out of 10
A great movie inspirational tale of survival that stars dogs that don't need to talk or fart... I wish there were more movies like this.

Coming in at number 5
Borat 9 out of 10
Veryyy Niceee!

Coming in at number 4
Cars 9 out of 10
Yet another fun Pixar movie with a heart that takes a look at a race car stuck in a little town on what used to be route 66.

Coming in at number 3
Crank 9+ out of 10
A totally unexpected thrill.... think Speed but the bus that is going to explode is Jason Statham.....Good hardcore action.

Coming in at number 2
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest 10 out of 10... More thrilling excitement from the Pirates franchise. This is basically a to be continued movie with #3. Depp again shines as Captain Jack Sparrow.

Coming in at number 1
Apocalypto.....10 out of 10 ....A terrific surprise...Stunning and dramatic and really bloody. Sure the plot is derivative of many other action movies including some of Mel Gibson's earlier work---but it just really worked for me.

Here is the trailer for Apocalypto

Borat 2006 9 out of 10

With  The Dictator coming out later this year I thought it was worth taking a look back at Borat...

Borat     2006    9 out of 10

"Very nice!!!!!!"   Loved this film.   Guy humor.   Sacha Baron Cohen— Alas  Borat the Horny—politically incorrect  visitor from one of the breakaway -Russian Republics.   The character he created for his Ali G tv show--delights here  as he harasses and annoys unknowing suckers.    The highlight was the uncomfortably funny naked wrestling scene with his manager—followed by naked chase through hotel.     Falling down and knocking over stuff in an antique store and  his attempted kidnapping of Pamela Anderson---Very nice!!!!  ---I can't wait for the DVD  --which I'm sure will have  (Hilarious Outtakes)  Some of the funniest scenes I've seen in years.

Here is a bonus clip from the Ali G show where Borat got his glorious start....Very Nice!
