This is my Ode to my favorite British comedies. I love British humor and here is my list of must watch British comedies for fellow British comedy fans.
Here is my top 8 Favorite British comedies of watch I've watched and seen so far. I'm sure I'll discover some more British gems sometime down the road. My only complaint about this wonderful shows is that they don't have more episodes.

1. Fawlty Towers ------12 Episodes of pure comedy brilliance. As close to sitcom perfection as you can get. From the comic genius of John Cleese as the hopeless manger of Fawlty Towers

2. Monty Python's Flying Circus 42 episodes . Hand down the best sketch comedy show of all-Time. Michael Palin, Graham Chapman, Eric Idle , John Cleese, Terry Jones and cartoons by Terry Gilliam.
I could quote Python Tv show and movie lines for days as many friends know –Especially Scott when he is in town it is just a matter of time before the first quote comes out. I could also go on and on about the brilliance of this edgy British gem and how it influenced SCTV ---SNL and Kids in the Hall just to name a few. But all British comedy fans already know about this amazing show.

3. Coupling 24 Episodes I just discovered this Friends (one of my favorite American Sitcoms) inspired sitcoms this summer and it is hilarious.
Like the wonderful Friends --this sitcom centers around six friends as they hang out together at the local pub. This British treasure is so well written that words can barely describe it . Jack Davenport (known to most US

5 Mr Bean 13 Episodes
A throw back to silent comedy --The Tv series is so much better then Bean the movie.
Rowan Atkinson does physical silent comedy as good as if not better than Chaplin or Keaton.

- A Thin Blue Line 10 Great Episodes Miles away from his Mr Bean Character Rowan shows his comic brilliance as the head of a police department. His sarcastic comments are gems as he deals with a bunch of wacked out people.

Rowan is an absolute treat as the sarcastic and scheming Black Adder .

A Bit of Fry and Laurie Which brings me to A Bit of Fry and Laurie . Yet another delightful witty unconventional edgy British treat that routinely breaks the fourth wall and starts talking about the sketch as a sketch in the middle of a sketch. Who!
